You are currently browsing the category archive for the 'plant exchange' category.

Plant exchange is as old as the garden: it what saves you from being overrun by day lilies, and maybe gets you some fall divisions of that fabulous peony down the street. It’s practical, like compost, and dirt cheap — c’mon, you knew i’d do it!

Here’s the deal: post the plants you’re willing to send to new homes, and the plants you’re looking for. If you’ve built up enough garden karma, you just may find someone who wants what you have or has what you want.

Happy gardening!

NB: If you garden in the surrounds of Portland, Maine, you can share your plants with the Horticulture Department of PATHS High School. FMI contact Bob Francis at portlandschools.org.
